Prior to the conference in the NCAA ACC 2016
Technically the ACC crown its champion on December 3. Actually, there will be a duel a couple of months before you decide the Atlantic Division and the conference, as has spent the last 5 years with the annual duels between Clemson and Florida State. Both teams have many headlines back the attack, it will be a great game, mandatory noted in the calendar, October 28. At least 11 of the 14 teams in the conference should play Bowls. The “Coastal Division” has taken a qualitative leap in terms of Staffs for arrivals HC renowned as Mark Richt in Miami, Justin Fountain at Virginia Tech and Bronco Mendenhall in Virginia.
Boston College Eagles: In 2014 was one of only three schools in the country top 15 just in the running game, both offensively and offensively. The backfield last season has suffered a mishap with RB Jon Hillman injury in Week 4. Once again the defense widely exceeded expectations with only 83 rushing yards allowed per game. The attack on the other hand go into a hibernation state, finishing the season with just 276 yards per game and 17 points. The new OC Scott Loeffler, from Virginia Tech, trust the brunt of the attack in Hillman who should be 100% recovered from his broken foot. QB Patrick Towler, transferred from Kentucky, is throwing for 5099 yards and 24 TDs in three years with the Wildcats. Now he is playing with the mattress that defense and 15 starters back in all, the Eagles should give a new look to the team in 2016.
Clemson Tigers: Despite losing eight starters from the defense of 2014, the best in the nation, and lost his OC, the Tigers managed to reach the national final game that snapped a streak of 51 games won consecutive after lead in the third quarter. That was the best class of seniors in school history, finishing with a record of 46-8. This year the defense was again sacked by the NFL draft, but the attack back 8 starters including Heisman candidate, QB Deshaun Watson, who threw for over 4,000 yards in his Sophomore season. His chemistry with WR Scott Artavis makes this couple a lethal in the passing game duo. With only 4 starters back on defense will be key recruiting and have one of the most promising country DT, Dexter Lawrence, who will start in his Freshman year as anchor of that DL thanks to its 6-5 340 weight pounds. Calendar played more than affordable for the season on October 29 in Tallahassee against the Seminoles.
Florida State Seminoles: Amazing how year after year Jimbo Fisher takes the team forward with remarkable results despite losing eight starters including Heisman QB Jameis Winston, another team would have been a disaster, but the Seminoles but ended the season with 10 wins thanks mainly to the improved defense 60 yards compared to 2014. This year there is not much more to say, with 17 starters back, including 11 attack. The RB Dalvin Cook is considered among the top 5 runners in the country and take the brunt of the attack. They also must be played virtually the entire October 29 against Clemson.
Louisville Cardinals: After starting the season 0-3, the Cardinals won 6 of the last 7 games to achieve its sixth consecutive winning season Sophomore QB led by Lamar Jackson, a very dynamic guy juice holder these last 7 games and led the team with 980 rushing yards and 11 TDs, plus passing for 1840 yards and 12 TDs. In the full “spring game” 24 of 29 for 519 yards and 8 TDs. In addition, Lousiville will return 10 starters and 8 attack on defense including Senior LB Devonte Fields, leader of the country “tackles for loss” unit ensuring that the Cardinals will be the best of the ACC.
NC State Wolfpack: Last season they found a large amount of “underclassmen”, a total of 143, an amount surpassed only by Washingotn across the nation Dave Doeren Boise St. has brought his new OC, and Eliah Drinkwitz new starting QB. Drinkwitz was already on the staff of Auburn 2010 when they won the national championship. As data, Doeren is 11-1 in the first 4 games of the year since it is on the computer. With 14 starters back would not surprise me a better 2015 season, the schedule is not too hard.
Syracuse Orange: Despite improved brand victories in 2015, Syracuse stepped back in both attack and defense, being outscored by an average of 151 yards in games against ACC rivals. This has resulted in a change of coach, hiring Dino Babers, from Bowling Green who inherit 99.6% of the offensive production last year. Babers had 17 players honored as All-MAC in 2 years with the Falcons. Babers defense should improve in about Orange have not stopped an attempt fourth down conversion this season. And hopefully not bring with poor discipline Falcons who led the country in penalties last season.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons: ElHCDave Clawson has been recognized for its value in rebuilding Football programs like Fordham, Richmond and Bowling Green. It has shown improvements in each of their stops. Improvement and good coaches college has come in the third year, with an average improvement of 2.35 wins respect to the second, it is why in Winston-Salem is having so much patience despite winning only 6 games (2 ACC) in 2 years. Last year was the only team in the country whose three top runners were “True Freshman”. A total of 17 starters are back 2015, providing expertise to the project Clawson should take this year a step forward.
Duke Blue Devils: The 6-1 start last season was the best start of the program since 1953, however, it seems unlikely that they will repeat the same season. HC David Cutcliffe has been an excellent coach and coach talent for QB position since it is in Duke, always finding the ideal candidate that best fits their scheme. QB Thomas Sirk seems to be the great hope of the Blue Devils this season, but had to undergo surgery in February on the Achilles tendon and will be unknown until the season start. And the entire 2012 season was lost, it was one of 4 conference QBs Power 5 lead his team in both pass and run in his first season as a starter. Parker Boehme is the backup, but there ‘s a pretty big leap of quality. No exaggeration to say that the season in Durham depends Thomas Sirk. Ninth and doubtful Cutcliffe season with a tough schedule, but up to Duke, they had never won a match in its history against ranked teams (47 plays) and since he arrived takes 5.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets: In his previous 18 years as coach Paul Johnson had led his teams to play Bowls 17 times in the last seven years, it has produced 13 runners over 1000 yards. Last year seemed to follow with a powerful backfield after starting 2-0, but finally finished with 90 yards less per game, losing 9 of the last 10 games. The race leader was the RB Marcus Marshal with 654 yards, although it is true that after a team that only committed 38 penalties in 2015, the least of the nation. They lost 5 of 6 games possession and return them only 11 starters. Adding this to a tough schedule, it suggests it will be a difficult year.
Miami Hurricanes: After 15 seasons in Georgia, Mark Richt has left the office to go home, to college has been his “Alma Mater”, which could prove to be the best hiring a coach this offseason. Brings large numbers, among which include a 85-40 against teams from the SEC and 49-16 on the road. The best news for him is that the QB Brad Kaaya has the full respect of its staff and the commander of the attack in this his third year as a starter. He has thrown for 3238 yards, 16 TD and 5 INT last season. In addition, they return to the offensive a total of 9 holders for the OC Manny Diaz can improve an attack that has faded in recent seasons. Seek their first season of at least 10 victories, something that fans have been waiting since 2003. The discipline is one of the points to be improved because with 9.31 penalties per game in 2015 was the worst team in the country in that regard.
North Carolina Tar Heels: Hiring of DC Gene Chizik last season has been instrumental in improving that unit. They have improved in 62 yards and 14.5 points per game, becoming the most improved country ‘s unity. It was not a coincidence and stay in Chapel Hill Chizik has paid off fairly quickly. They won 11 consecutive games for the first time in program history. The new QB Mitch Tribusky a 4 star recruited Ohio State, has been the understudy Marquise Williams completing 40 of 47 passes for 555 yards and 6 TDs, small numbers but very good. Elijah Hood is one of 5 RBs conference “Power 5” with over 1,000 yards returning. 10 career TDs rushing yards and 6.0 endorse him to be one of the RBs to follow across the nation this season. 7 teams will play against HC to underperform. I would not surprise me to see the Tar Heels hanging around a season with 10 or more wins.
Pittsburgh Panthers: Pat Naduzzi premiered last season as HC leading the Panthers to a 8-5 including 6 wins against ACC rivals. That good result achieved this without their star RB James Conner who suffered a knee injury in the first game and pushing her fields throughout the season and in December he was diagnosed with lymphoma. The Panthers pray so you can play in 2016. His backup, the Redshirt Freshman Qadree Ollison was named “ACC Offensive Rookie of the Year” after running for 1121 yards and 11 TDs. The QB Nate Peterman will be back with 4 men line of attack. It is the only team in the country that has no games with over 20 points advantage. Its 5 defeats were against teams from Bowl that have a combined record of 52-15.
Virginia Cavaliers: Bronco Mendenhall will be the new HC Cavaliers with the team that suffered further decline in talent recruited the last 5 years among all conference equipment Power 5. With a new staff have much work ahead trying to bring back to viriginia different objectives does not see, such as a winning season or a bowl. One appearance in Bowls in 8 years is a very poor background. Mendenhall comes to undertake the metamorphosis they need in Charlottesville. His 11 appearances Bowls each of the 11 seasons he was training BYU endorse him.
Virginia Tech Hokies: After 23 consecutive seasons playing Bowl, the longest streak in the country, nothing seems to be as successful as the legendary Frank Beamer. The iconic HC has finally retired and with it comes Justin Fuente who has orchestrated an incredible change in Memphis. DC Bud Foster will be back for its 30th season in Blacksburg. Has managed to place its defenses among the 5 best in the country on 6 occasions and has led the FBS in sacks and interceptions since 1996. After several seasons stuck in 6-8 wins, Justin Fuente have 16 starters back to try to give the step forward.
Prediction: Both Clemson and Florida State have the potential to reach the Playoffs CFB however only one can win the ACC and although the duel between the two is in Florida, Clemson has a gear and the best HC of the conference. North Carolina, Louisville and Miami are teams that will have everyone talking and be hanging around 9-10 wins. Virginia and Wake Forest are teams that can only go up. We expect a very entertaining ACC season with Heisman Trophy several contenders and the national championship.
